A beautiful Bohemian glass  Mary Gregory tumbler or shot glass with hand applied enamelled decoration.  This style of glassware was from Bohemia and made from the 1880's onwards.
The term Mary Gregory indicates a style of glass. It is not a manufacturer.  It originates from a myth that a lady in the United States of America named Mary Gregory painted scenes of children on glassware.  Actually this type of glass originated from Bohemia and although Mary Gregory did exist and worked for the Boston and Sandwich Glass Comoany in the 1880's, she only ever painted landscapes not children.  Regardless of the truth we now know, the old name has stuck and this type of glassware is still known as a Mary Gregory glass. Several factories in Bohemia produced this glass during the Victorian era and later and some European countries still make glass in this style today.

In good condition overall, , this glass does has a flake nibble to the rim.
