A fabulous highly decorative French chateau armoire circa 1900. This has been painted in a pale winter grey with off-white/creamy highlighted details.
It has exquisite detail and fine craftsmanship with a wonderful carved floral rococo crested pediment over the door. The double doors retain their original deep bevelled mirrors which do have some marks and foxing commensurate with age. There are some dings and scuffs to the paintwork.
There is a key but this doesn't operate the lock. Perfect to use to close and hang a tassel from!
There are two shelves inside (a hanging rail or more shelves could be added). There is a concealed drawer at the base.
This is a knock down armoire so is easy to transport and reassemble on site. The feet have clearly been adapted to reduce the height of the armoire at some point.
