Code: GF5.24-5/30
Dimensions:
An antique loveseat/sofa in the style of Louis XVI, which has been reupholstered in Zoffany Darnley Toile velvet fabric.
We are unable to date it exactly as an original 18th century piece but at the very least it is a 19th century revival piece, between 1800-1850 the neo classical revival period.
It has a carved wooden frame with gesso overlay. Originally gilded, this has been removed and the piece painted and finished with dark wax.
Very elegant and comfortable as well as structurally sound. There is a little loss to the gesso but this is barely noticeable.
