An antique French marriage display stand dating from the late 1880s. This would have been encased in a glass dome at one time and would hold the treasure from a couple's wedding (headdress, flower buttonhole etc) as well as mirrors and birds to symbolise what the couple hoped for in their lives together. Used now to display pretty objects or jewellery on a dressing table or sideboard. It is a very decorative item in good antique condition.
