A 19th century (mid 1800s Louis XV) bronze cherub bowl. This is signed by the French maker E Provost. In good condition it would make a bowl or trinket or even a soap dish as shown in the photographs.
Unfortunately it is missing its small base, which would have had four acanthus legs and tendril feet. This is reflected in the price being asked, similar pieces are currently being advertised for £338 up to £1199 online.
To be used as is, as it is extremely heavy it would need to lean against a wall or a circular small base could be made for it to stand on.
It is certainly a stunning decorative piece.
